One Voice received funding from NELC in 2023 and 2024 to deliver a number of cookery courses to enable people to learn how to make healthy meals on a budget. These cookery courses were delivered in partnership with CARE to ensure that support was being offered to those who needed it the most including some who were facing hardship and food poverty. Many benefits were gained through the 4 cookery courses that were delivered each course 12 participants attended each course parent child sessions were held within two of these courses to support parents to involve the children in cooking meals to develop good life skills and opportunity for shared interactions. All participants received cooking appliances recipes and spices to be able to recreate the recipes at home.
