Meet the One Voice Team

Introducing the amazing people behind our charity.

Meet the Team will highlight one of our team members – sharing their story, their role, and why they’re passionate about their work. We want to shine a spotlight our team members so you can get to know the faces (and stories!) behind the work we do.

Michelle – One Voice Volunteer

Hi I’m Michelle. I volunteer for One Voice at Immingham Access Point. I also help at the Soft Play Sessions. I started volunteering because I needed something to do whilst the children were at school. I have found volunteering to be a lifeline for me. I had just moved into the area and was isolated. Volunteering encouraged me to get out of the house and meet new people. That was 11 years ago. Over my time as a volunteer I have grown in my confidence and gained new friends. I also really enjoy helping the local community. My experiences have helped me to be confident to step into new opportunities and gain new skills and knowledge.

Derek – One Voice Photography Group Volunteer

I started working for One Voice after covid, I was feeling isolated and lonely at home all day with 2 young children 24/7. One Voice gave me an opportunity to start meeting people again.

I really enjoy my work it has helped me gain more confidence and I’ve met some lovely people along the way.

Grace – One Voice Volunteer

Hi, I’m Grace. I got involved with One Voice in early 2024 as a member of the Soft Play Team.

I also volunteer at our annual events, including working on the gate at I-Fest and as an elf at our Christmas event.

Since then, both I and my close family have seen improvements in my communication and teamwork skills. It has also helped me develop my personal skills and grow in confidence as a young person.

I’ve met new people and always enjoy seeing the same faces every week.
